We have not too many good things to say about Blue Star Hotel, Nha Trang, Vietnam. Apart from that is has the perfect location just across the highly trafficked road opposite the beach. That is mainly why you could choose to stay at this hotel. However, it is not reason enough.
Our room is a corner room at floor 5. The room is quite spacious, but looks nothing like the pictures on Agoda. It does not even resemble our own pictures! How weird is that? When you look closer to things, eveything is worn and filthy. But it looks good from a distance.
It comes with large twin beds, ok to sleep in. A kettle, ONE coffeecup (how about two cups for a double room?) and a fridge. Strangely enough, did not expect that, it also has a hairdryer in the bathroom. Which has a very worn bathtub and a small window facing the corridor (why?).
The room does come with a seaview. From a 60 cm deep balcony. Two chairs is all that fits. No table. A filthy ashtray on the AC-unit. Classy. And the noise coming from the street is horrific. Day and night. Night and day. The room is supposed to be soundproof. It. Is. Not. There is a Russian karaoke club somewhere near. Remember to bring your ear plugs. Or your bazooka.
So yes, the pictures, on Agoda and our own ones, do not do Blue Hotel, Nha Trang, Vietnam any justice. This is an awful hotel. The floor seems to be quite new, but everything else is old, worn, filthy and dusty. The room is not even cleaned properly. The staff (owners?) at the reception is not friendly at all. They never smile. When you say hello, they hardly reply. We get one smile – on checkout, when asked to leave a good review on Booking… hm, I don’t think so.
