Cita Resort is a nice option to stay at if you like peace and quiet. The beach area is not happening at all, although they are building a new hotel next door when we are here in January 2020. Apart from that there is not much going on at this end of Saracen Bay. Luckily enough, Cita Resort has one of the best restaurants on Koh Rong Samloem. This Italian has the best pizza and pasta we have had in a very long time.
There are five wooden bungalows and three of them have seaview. They are quite charming with two stories, a balcony and a large veranda with hammocks. The room is quite small, but not too small. It has a double bed, two bedside tables, a bamboo coat rack/luggage shelf and a fan. There is also an AC which does its job a bit too well. The balcony has two chairs and a table. There is no fridge.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and is semi-outdoors. When showering the whole floor gets wet. Surely when it rains too. The water pressure could be better and the water is not too warm, but it works. We like the idea of showering under the bare sky. The shower has soap and shampoo dispensers.
The stairs up to the bedroom are very steep, so don’t book the wooden bungalows if you are disabled or otherwise uncapable of taking high steps similar to those of a ladder. Cita Resort has other rooms that are more modern.
The private veranda with hammocks is a nice space to hang out in. There are a few sunloungers facing the sea in front of the bungalows. The beach is not as beautiful here as on the larger Koh Rong island and the water is not as clear as the boat pier is just nearby.
Cita Resort is at the southern end of Saracen Bay on Koh Rong Samloem. The nearest ferry pier is Paradise Pier. The ferry company Romny Tours stops here, so it may be a good idea to purchase your ferry tickets from them. If you however do arrive at Orchid Pier, Cita Resort can pick you up in a smaller boat and transfer you to the hotel.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Cita Resort to the main restaurants on the beach. If you don’t mind the walk and are looking for a very quiet an calm vacation, Cita Resort is a good choice. Our friends are staying 700 meters away at Pipes Resort, so if you are looking for a hotel closer to the nightlife (although a very quiet one), this could also be a good choice.
