We choose this hotel in terms of three conditions; location, location, location. @Hua Lamphong Hostel Bangkok opposite the main train station is the perfect spot for us as we are we are heading for Chiang Mai by train early next morning.
As we are staying for one night, this will be a very brief review: small room, comfy bed, hair dryer, safety box, AC, minibar. No more, no less. The bathroom sink is located in the room, not in the bathroom. This is a bit unconvenient and unregular.Walls are like paper and the hotel has one-glass windows, so it is very noisy. Also the staff in the café downstairs is not very service minded.
For one night only, @Hua Lamphong Hostel Bangkok is ok. It is cheap. For a longer stay, you should choose another hotel.

If for longer stay, I will recommend this hostel instead, but the special part of this recommendation is that the best room is RM 201. Other rooms may not have that sort of ’feel’.
If you can get that particular room, then you’d know why it shines.
The hotel room was really affordable a couple of years ago, not sure of now. It is superbly located which was like 10 mins walk to the shopping district… … Though I… … can walk very fast. So I don’t know the actual time normal people need to reach there.
It was also near to other shopping areas.
It has great affordable salad!
They actually do up the place the second time I visited. It is seemingly constantly improving itself.
I always book that room before I went to Bangkok.
Especially if you need train service, that’s the hostel for you. Also, nearby the hostel were nice eateries. Delicious.
Rm 201 is more spacious, designed to face a long window… … with outside scene, and correct placed washroom. It is simple but clean personal space.
Hopefully I can visit Bangkok again, this time with my boy, and enjoy that room again.
