Tubtim Resort Koh Samet Thailand lies on the Tubtim Beach with sand like white velvet. It squeeks when walked upon. The resort has a large number of bungalows in different price ranges and we are staying in one of the older standard bungalows. We have no sea view as our house is in the third row from the sea. But the water is less than 100 meters away. The bungalow is very basic. A large doube bed and a shelf and that is it. The extra bed that can be folded down from the wall, we cleverly use as wardrobe. A large sink outside the toilet is a god idea. The shower is warm, but has no shower curtain, so the water splashes everywhere.
The room has a safetybox, AC, two bottles of water each day, a hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel. The porch has two chairs and a table. Beach towels can be checked out every day in the reception.
The reception area is also where you will find the breakfast. They serve both western and thai brakfast. There is an egg man frying eggs as you like them and they make their own yoghurt. Fresh fruit and some strange thai desserts. All in all a quite good breakfast. They could however improve on the juices.
Tubtim Resort has a restaurant by the beach. Next to it there is a café, a bar and another restaurant. These are the facilities of Tubtim Beach. You can rent deck chairs for 30 baht, kayak for 500, tube 100, and motorbikes 400 baht, per day. Massage is offered directly on the beach.
Tubtim Beach has a bunch of dogs and cats, but they are friendly and well-mannered, although they do not seem to like munks very much.
Tubtim Resort Kho Samet Thailand has a minimart, but it is quite expensive. 100 meters upp the dirt road there is one local shop which is cheaper. There is an ATM in the reception.
The beach is nice, the sand exquisite, but the water is not crystal clear.
Grab a shared songthaew from the pier to get to Tubtim Resort. It takes 10 minutes and costs 50 bath per person. A private songthaew will cost you 200 bath.
